[General Strike]
In this piece, part of the Sonora 128 project, the for- mat of a billboard is used to present a message of resistance. On it, we can read a phrase taken from The Ecology of Freedom (1982) by writer and political theorist Murray Bookchin: “If we do not do the impossible, we shall be faced with the unthinkable.” Despite multiple possible interpretations, in this case, the phrase is a call for action in the face of the ecological and social crisis. The use of black and red refers to the imaginary of labor union strikes, allud- ing to the need to put a stop to the labor practices that have brought us to this point in the planetary climate emergency.
