This project was realized as part of The Street, a series of artistic interventions on Wentworth Street, organized by the Whitechapel Gallery in London. It consisted of creating a local currency called S-COOP, inspired by the type of coins used by British cooperatives at the beginning of the twentieth century, when the exchange of alternative tokens abounded. This coin was put into circulation at the Petticoat Lane Market, the oldest commercial area in the United Kingdom, which is tied to the figure of Marx, since it was where he developed part of his analysis of the capitalist mode of production. The S-COOP coin was distributed and exchanged by shopkeepers and could be used to buy a scoop of ice cream at Monochrome, an ice cream parlor that the artist designed inside one of the shops.
