A collection of insects, naturalist books, postcards, and scientific observation instruments are displayed on a hexagonal table, which alludes to the shape of a honeycomb, while sections of insects are projected onto the walls through a microscope. The piece is based on the idea that, just as every being is com- posed of a society of separate cells, every group of people—every society—functions as a single organ- ism. In this way, Social Entomology intends to reflect on the symbiotic relationships between Earth’s inhabitants and question the notion of the individual.
